Welcome to the Real World

This is my latest wrap dress. I'm taking sewing classes and although I thought I already knew how to sew, can you imagine there is a lot I don't know.

New Flowered Dress

Voila! The latest design. I found this fantastic piece of fabric only one yard, so I was forced to make this cute little summer dress. Currently I am working on my sewing skills so that I can sell my dresses on Etsy or somewhere. Soon.
Looking for a vintage wiggle dress pattern as that is all the rage, have yet to see someone in public wearing one. But I'll bet she looks great!

Monet Garden Dress

O.K. less crabby today and decided to call my new dress The Monet Garden Dress... much better. Isn't that top pic surreal? It looks photoshopped but it isn't. Had to hike my lazy b... into the woods so that noone would watch me taking pictures of a dress in the woods.

Skirt Inspiration

This skirt was in the latest Marie-Claire magazine. My local yarn shop has some curly mohair that might work!

The Prarie Market Tote is my latest crochet design. I was actually making something else that was turning itself into this tote so I just went for it. Currently the pattern is for sale on Etsy.

What Else to Wear

Burberry Prorsum is one of my favorites. Seems to me 40licious had this exact outfit by Ralph Lauren way back in the 80's. I really find it interesting and love clothes that you can look fabulous in while tending to your goat.

What to Wear

I like to thrift score, but sometimes there is so much out there that one doesn't know where to start. The first outfit looks like good starting place. An outfit by Michael Kors, maybe buy the belt and boots new so that you have a polished look, make the hat and skirt and thrift the sweater. The dress also by Michael Kors looks like something you could sew. In fact his latest pattern for Vogue may even BE this dress, it is difficult to tell as the picture is so dark. Though not a huge fan of his, these two outfits are sublime.

Double Posting

I had to double post today because I found this doiley dress on style.com Missoni fall 2010. The knitted dress is also very interesting. Still not enough time in the day. I want to make one of everything for myself!

Missoni Quilt Skirt

While thumbing throught the latest Bazaar magazine, I noticed the Missoni had a long crochet skirt that resembles the stitching I have been using and really inspires me to design one of my own. On further research I find some quilted skirts that look just like these pieces of vintage wool blankets that my mother just gave to me. Really is there enough time to do it all?

Big Wowy Scarves

These three big scarves come from different designers. The top picture is from Michael Kors 2010 fall collection, the second is Yokoo on etsy which I saw last winter and the last is...I forgot but I found it on Etsy in 2008 and thought it was outrageous.
Interesting how ideas spread like wildfire. Looks like it is time I design my own oversized scarf.

French Market Bag crochet

This design just evolved. I started crocheting with something else in mind and when it took this shape, rather than unravel I kept going. Love the little shadow.

Dark Chocolate Hobo Bag

Just when I am ready to give up on Etsy, I sell something which makes it fun again. Like gambling I imagine.
This Dark Chocolate Hobo bag is a really cute design, I'll have to try whipping up another although I don't have any more of this color.
The Octopus bag sold at Five Fingers. It is not likely I will make any more, it took FOREVER!

If I had a shop

Racks and racks would be filled with these beautiful vintage style dresses from Kara-Line.
As the summer tries to get to the Northwest my knitting slowly falls to the wayside and I begin to sew up dresses of my own. Maybe I would have time enough to make some for my imaginary shop.
